Why not change hotels every day
The island is compact, but mountain roads consume time
Tenerife's ring roads are easy, but Teide, Masca, and Anaga are mountain drives. The south coast works well for arrival and beach buffers; the north coast or La Laguna works better for Teide, Anaga, old towns, and black beaches. Avoid moving luggage every day.
Weather strategy
Check high-altitude weather for Teide, cloud and rain for Anaga
A sunny coast does not mean Teide is clear, and mountain access can change because of ice, wind, or fire risk. Treat Teide and Anaga as swappable days rather than fixed dates.
Driving strategy
Keep Masca and Anaga in daylight
TF-436, the Anaga northeast coast, and Teide mountain roads are beautiful but narrow and winding, with limited viewpoints. Drive these sections from morning to dusk, then keep evenings short.

Tenerife ON
Check trail status, protected-area notes, and permit routes such as Teide PNT-10.
AEMET Teide
Mountain forecast: focus on wind, low temperatures, precipitation, and visibility.
Cabildo / Teide Roads
After winter or bad weather, check whether Teide access roads such as TF-21, TF-24, and TF-38 are restricted.
Teide Cable Car
Cable car status, tickets, and summit-trail permit notes. A cable car ticket does not automatically include summit access.
The Telesforo Bravo summit trail requires a permit. Without one, use La Rambleta viewpoints as the endpoint.
Masca and the Anaga northeast coast are narrow and winding. Do not force the drive in rain, fog, rockfall warnings, or strong wind.
Open beaches such as Benijo and La Tejita can have strong surf and wind. Check flags and local warnings before swimming.
